Beef Bone Broth Nutrition Facts

The beef is similar to the chicken but with less protein and more fat. 2 g of fat is interesting when the chicken has zero. I would guess this is because they do not remove the fat in the beef, but do in the chicken. This is a bit confusing why they do not do the same for both.

Ingredient Analysis

The ingredient list in Roli Roti bone broth is straightforward with only 3 in each product. That being said, there are a few interesting things to note.

There is no mention of bones on either product package. Just 'beef' and 'chicken.' I've never seen this before in any other bone broth. They always have bones as the second ingredient (behind water).

Bones in a pot for broth

There are a few possible reasons for this.

  1. They are not using bones, but are using meat, skin and other parts of the animal instead.
  2. They simply left out the word 'bones.' This is strange given the name of the product.
  3. There is a compliance reason for this. For example: the USDA or FDA made them label it as such. Likely related to bullet point #1 above.

Overall, it seems as though Roli Roti is having quality and consistency issues with their products. Bone broth is incredibly difficult to make at a mass scale. Perhaps these are just growing pains as they expand across the USA.
